Grateful Hearts @ The Well is a ministry of The Well of Dyersburg

The Well of Dyersburg, founded in 2015 by Rev Carolyn Smith Goings and a team of volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry with the primary goal of promoting God’s radical inclusion, total welcome, and loving encouragement for all.   

Grateful Hearts @ The Well is the counseling outreach of The Well of Dyersburg. Rev Dr Goings, the principal pastoral counselor, practices spiritually integrated pastoral counseling and welcomes people of all ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and all faiths or no faiths.

Before starting her counseling practice in Tennessee, Carolyn provided counseling in New England, Florida, and in the Midwest as a pastor and as a chaplain in hospitals, prisons, long-term care facilities, hospice care, and on a college campus.

In addition, Dr Goings is a Board-Certified Chaplain and a Board-Certified CPE Supervisor/Educator who enjoys guiding persons who want to be chaplains toward that goal.

Rev Goings is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. She earned her PhD at Antioch University in Organizational Leadership with a focus on race relations in Christian congregations. She is currently engaged in further PhD studies at Belmont University in Mental Health Counseling: Advanced Clinical Practices.
